2006
Benbow Steels Established
Simon Benbow established a colour coated steel stockholding business in his spare room armed with a list of potential customers, experience and a computer.
2007
Business Growth
Founded on the principles of exceptionally high standards of service, the business grew quickly and we moved into serviced offices in Downing Street, Smethwick.
2008/9
Expansion into New Facilities
Moving into a new factory in Great Bridge we could increase our range of stock and expand our team.
It also gave us space to install a new, bespoke, blanking line which significantly expanded our capabilities and enabled us to be self-sufficient in meeting our customers’ needs.
2013
High Standards
Ensuring our high standards ran through every aspect of our business we achieved ISO 9001 just 7 years after we were established.

2018
Rebrand
We rebranded the company to represent who we were more clearly, and established a new management structure so we could continue to grow.
2020
Major Investment & Expansion
Major expansion projects ran throughout the year:
- Taking on the factory next door to double storage capacity
- Investing in a new blanking line to double our processing capability and increase our product range
- Implement a new ERP system to allow our systems to grow with the business
- Pull down our offices and build new ones
